CHRIS BROWN BIOGRAPHY

Chris Brown

Christopher Maurice Brown, better known as Chris Brown, is an American rapper best known for his 2011 Grammy Award-winning album “F.A.M.E.” and his open trial for domestic violence.
Chris Brown has a net worth of $30 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth in 2014.

Early life

Chris Brown was born to Joyce Hawkins and Clinton Brown in Tappahannock, Virginia. Sam Cooke and Michael Jackson were favorites of Brown’s parents, who served as an example for their son. Brown started dancing at the age of two, and even as a young child, he dreamed of being a rapper. Brown started singing when he was eleven years old, and at the age of thirteen, a talent agent came across him. For his career, Chris Brown relocated to New York, where he spent two years.

Private Life

Chris Brown and Rihanna first crossed paths in 2005, and they started dating in 2008. After the couple argued, Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna on February 8, 2009. Brown initially denied the accusations, but eventually admitted to domestic violence and making criminal harassment. He was given a 5-year probationary term, 6 months of community service, and a restraining order that prevented him from coming within 50 yards of Rihanna. Domestic abuse activists criticized the ruling, arguing that Brown should have received a much harsher sentence for his actions. Later, the restraining order was changed to let Brown and Rihanna to visit award shows simultaneously.

Career

Chris Brown, as a teenager, dropped out of school in 2004 and started to work on his new album. Chris Brown’s personality first album, which was launched on November 29, 2005, debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Brown won Best New Artist and Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 49th Grammy Awards as a result of the album. On November 6th, 2007, Brown released his second studio album, “Exclusive.”

The album garnered relatively unfavorable reviews and didn’t have the same level of success as its predecessor. Brown started The Exclusive Holiday Tour in December of that year, and it lasted until February, ending in Hawaii. Brown wanted to imitate the sound of artists like Michael Jackson and Prince, who had influenced him as a young performer, on his third studio album.

Graffiti, which was released on December 7th, 2009, was the outcome. Although the album opened at number 7 on Billboard’s 200 chart, it received negative reviews from critics who referred to it as “bland” and “insufferable.” After receiving negative reviews for “Graffiti,” Brown began work on “F.A.M.E,” his fourth studio album. It was launched on March 18, 2011, and became Brown’s first album to reach number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Even though the album earned more positive reviews, critics only gave it mediocre ratings. On June 29, 2012, Brown released “Fortune,” which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart just over a year later.

The album, however, received widespread criticism for being “shameless” and “uncomfortable”. The recording of Brown’s sixth studio album, “X,” which was launched on September 16, 2014, took two years. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, failing to debut at number one for the first time since “Graffiti.” However, the album did earn a lot more good feedbacks and an usually more supportive critical response.
